About The Role

Keith Brown MSP is looking for a Parliamentary Assistant to join his team.

Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours: Part-time – 28 hours per week during core office hours.

Location: Alloa/Holyrood

Working for a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP)

MSPs are employers in their own right. Under their employment, you will become part of a team supporting them in carrying out their duties. You'll work in a dynamic and fast paced environment to provide an outstanding service for constituents.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting MSP’s Head of Office with day-to-day parliamentary and constituency responsibilities which include:

  • Communications – contributing to social media channels, local/national press and website content
  • Drafting and tabling Parliamentary motions and questions
  • Drafting speeches
  • Casework
  • Preparing briefings on relevant local and national issues

About You

Skills and Attributes Required

Excellent organisational skills while being flexible in prioritising workloads during busy times.
Excellent communications skills, with accurate attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
Strong, proactive work ethic.
Relevant IT skills – including Microsoft Office, social media platforms & digital communications.
Flexibility to work between Alloa and Edinburgh
