About The Role

Rachael Hamilton MSP is looking for a Parliamentary Assistant to join her team.
 
Salary: £23,304 - £30,190 per annum
  

Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week.

Location: Holyrood/Scottish Borders

Working for a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP)

MSPs are employers in their own right. Under their employment, you will become part of a team supporting them in carrying out their duties. You'll work in a dynamic and fast paced environment to provide an outstanding service for constituents.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Supporting casework, research, diary management and other aspects of the MSP office

- Media monitoring

- Tabling Parliamentary motions and questions

- Communications – contributing to social media channels, local/national press and website content

- Assisting MSP’s Head of Office with day-to-day parliamentary and constituency responsibilities

About You

Skills and Attributes Required

- Organised with an attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines calmly under pressure.
- Strong, proactive work ethic.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office, social media platforms & digital communications.
- Flexibility to work between Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders
- A commitment to support Rachael Hamilton MSP in pursuit of her values and aspirations
- Driving license and access to own transport desirable
