About The Role

Working pattern: This is a full-time post.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Committee Office as a Digital Support Manager. The role will support the Parliamentary committees for which both the Committee and Chamber Offices are responsible.  The work of committees, located within the Scrutiny Group,  includes conducting inquiries; scrutinising the work and financial proposals of the Scottish Government; scrutinising Bills and other legislation; and considering petitions.

This new temporary role will provide dedicated support to staff in relation to the implementation of the new digital systems and processes which have been introduced at the start of Session 6.  These include: the new website and supporting content management system; Sitecore; the replacement committee agenda and papers management system, COMMit; and the public consultation platform, Citizen Space. The role will be on a temporary basis for 6 months.

The post holder will also play a key role in developing mechanisms to support Business as Usual in respect of the various digital systems, including identifying additional training needs.  They will liaise with other offices in relation to system implementation and co-ordinate communications regarding digital projects, developments and training.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in supporting and embedding change and delivering successful outcomes.  You will be comfortable in learning and understanding new systems and processes and will be collaborative in your approach to problem solving.  You will have excellent communication skills and be able to confidently liaise and collaborate with a range of colleagues in a variety of business areas. Ideally you will also have a knowledge and understanding of how committees are supported.

The Selection Process

Stage 1

Stage 2

At the final stage, you’ll be invited to attend a virtual panel interview. Interviews will be held on 31 August 2021.
